Fertigation - Fertilization / Irrigation - Fertilizer Injection into the Irrigation System

Fertilizer injection - liquid fertilizer for the irrigation system

In addition to the water supply, plants also need nutrients for optimal growth. If fertilisation is combined with an irrigation system, the supply of nutrients can take place automatically via the irrigation.

This way splendid growth, beautiful blossoms and a rich harvest is guaranteed.

Fertiliser injection from the fertiliser reservoir: application in the garden and in horticulture

The most important nutrients for plants are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These are also referred to as NPK fertilisers. Nitrogen is responsible for the growth of leaves, phosphorus for the development of roots and flowers and potassium for the development of fruits. If you want to provide your plants with the best possible care, you should therefore use a fertiliser that contains all three nutrients in a balanced proportion. This is especially true for young plants that are still in the growing process. Older plants can get by with less nitrogen because they are no longer growing as actively. In this case, a fertiliser with a higher proportion of phosphorus and potassium is recommended.

Injecting liquid fertilizer - dosage requirements

When using automatic irrigation systems, it is best to use special fertilisers that dissolve quickly in water. The liquids should not contain any particles that could get caught in filters or other components of the irrigation system. With the Venturi fertiliser injection, the dosage takes place via the difference in pressure in the system. In viticulture and agriculture, a bypass can be used for fertiliser injection due to the very high water volumes. Due to the way the Venturi nozzle works, the dosage is dependent on the amount of water supplied. A more advanced and significantly more precise fertiliser injection is possible with the proportional dosage unit. Here, the starter solution is injected via a pump into the water supplied for irrigation. With this technology, the fertiliser injection is proportional to the water flow and thus independent of the amount of water used. This offers advantages with fluctuating water supplies in the garden, in viticulture, and also in agriculture.
