Description

PRESSFLO VARIO - ELECTRONIC PUMP CONTROL - PEDROLLO

PRESFLO® is a device that starts and stops the pump to which it is connected, replacing traditional pressure switch/surge tank systems. The pump starts when the pressure in the system drops below the “start pressure” (Pm) when a tap is turned on, and stops when the required flow rate is zero or less than the “shut-off flow rate” (Qa). The operating pressure (Pm) can be set mechanically using a rotary knob.
The PRESFLO® electronics protect the pump from unsuitable operating conditions such as dry running or repeated start-up due to leaks.

Before installing or using PRESFLO®, please read this manual carefully and thoroughly. The pump should be installed and serviced by qualified personnel who are familiar with how to make the hydraulic and electrical connections in accordance with
PRESSFLOW® is not liable for damage resulting from improper use of the product or for damage resulting from maintenance or repair work carried out by unqualified personnel and/or with non-OEM spare parts.

The warranty, which is valid for 24 months from the date of purchase, will be void if the product is damaged due to the use of non-OEM replacement parts, tampering or improper use. Before starting the installation, check the following:

  • the power supply is switched off.
  • the power lines can withstand the maximum current.
  • the cable glands and the circuit board cover are properly mounted and fastened ( see Electrical connections ).
  • The power supply system must be equipped with a suitable protective device (fuse or magnetothermic relay) before PRESFLO®.

When maintaining the product, the following must be checked:

  • the system is not under pressure (open a water tap)
  • the power supply is switched off.

EMERGENCY STOP

During operation, the pump can be stopped in an emergency: Press STOP/RESTART.

ORIENTATION PRESSFLO VARIO

PRESFLO® can be installed at any angle based on flow direction.

POSITION PRESSFLO VARIO

PRESFLO® can be installed either directly at the pump outlet or at any point in the delivery line. Never install any valves between the pump and PRESFLO®. Do not install a non-return valve between PRESFLO® and the valves. However, it is possible, although not necessary, to install a non-return valve in the pump's suction line.

The pressure exerted by the water column above PRESFLO® must not exceed the pump's cut-in pressure (Pm). For example, if PRESFLO® is installed at a height of 18 m (60 ft) below the highest tap in the system, the pressure sensed by PRESFLO® will be approximately 1.8 bar (25 psi). Therefore, a change to Pm = 2.4 bar (35 psi) should be made to ensure that the pump is started when a tap is turned on.

The maximum pressure generated by the pump must be at least 1 bar (15 psi) higher than the cut-in pressure (Pm). If the pressure generated by the pump is too low, PRESFLO® stops the pump and displays a “dry run” error message.

If the pressure in the system falls below the Pm value, PRESFLO® starts the pump. The Pm value must be at least 0.5 bar higher than the pressure generated by the water column above PRESFLO. The value of Pm can be varied in
range between 0.8 and 2.4 bar, turning the adjustment knob clockwise to increase Pm and anticlockwise to decrease Pm.

FACTORY CONFIGURATION

PRESFLO is supplied with the following standard configuration:
Operating pressure: Pm = 1.5 bar
Hydraulic couplings: the two-part connection allows quick connection to the system.

Do NOT apply sealant inside the 2-piece fitting as it already has an internal o-ring.
