To install a micro irrigation this PE pipe can be used in the garden or on the balcony and terrace. The fitting is done e.g. onto a water tap with an adapter to a 3/4" external thread. Barb fittings or 16 mm fittings can be used for the assembly of L-pieces, T-pieces or end pieces. The supply line serves as main line for the installation of a drip irrigation, a spray irrigation or a micro irrigation . It is connected to the tap by means of an adapter from "¾" male thread to 13 mm Barb. Optionally, a tap control and a pressure reducer can be interposed.
Depending on line pressure and line length, approx. 0.5 - 1 m³ of water per hour can be pumped through a ½" pipe. For a drip irrigation system, this is sufficient to supply e.g. 50 drip points with 20 litres per hour. If the water requirement is higher, several irrigation circuits must be set up. These can then be controlled with a 2-circuit tap control or with a valve box.
The following options are available for connecting drippers or sprayers:
A: A hole is punched into the PE pipe using a 4 mm punch and a dripper or sprayer is inserted directly.
B: Using a punch a hole is made in the PE pipe, then a 4 mm micro saddle (junction) is inserted, a 4 mm ID tubing is attached to this and a dripper or sprayer is fitted onto it. The dripper is then fixated to the root ball with a ground spike so that it stays above the ground and gets less dirty.
C: With the patented rapid assembly for the installation of a drip and spray irrigation. The micro saddle (junction) is placed onto the PE pipe, the mandrel drills into the pipe, then the micro saddle is fixed by pressing the clamp shut. No tools are required. The 4 mm ID tubing can be attached directly.
