The Hunter MINI-CLIK Rain Sensor is the easiest way to automatically shut off your irrigation system when it rains.

Irrigating lawns in the rain not only leads to poorly watered plants and lawns and possibly mud, it also wastes water unnecessarily. Hunter's Mini-Clik rain sensor is the easiest and most effective way to turn off your irrigation during and after rain showers. The rain sensor is easy to install in all automatic irrigation systems. The Mini-Clik stops irrigation programs when it detects that a predetermined amount of precipitation has fallen. This automatic process ensures that your lawns and other plants are not watered during rainy periods. Once the rain has stopped, the Mini-Clik enables the controller to resume normal watering. Mini-Clik is compatible with all Hunter controllers.

Cork discs in the sensor absorb the rainwater and swell in proportion to the amount of rain. A small rain shower causes the cork disks to swell less than a thunderstorm with heavy rainfall. The expansion of the water-laden cork activates a switch at a certain swelling level, which interrupts the circuit between the irrigation controller and the irrigation valve. This prevents the irrigation from starting. When the cork has dried again due to temperature and sunlight, the switch releases the irrigation again. The Mini-Clik therefore works without influencing the irrigation program, but simply by interrupting the electrical circuit between the controller and valve.
