This means that garden hoses lying around and rolling them up and down are finally a thing of the past. Various connection systems are available so that the PE pipe can be laid reliably and safely. The patented Gardena “Quick and Easy” connection technology allows quick and easy installation of the pipe system. Various connection pieces (elbows, T-pieces, etc.) are installed underground with the connecting pipe. Alternatively, the compatible compression fittings (e.g. from the manufacturer Unidelta) or the simple plug system Blu Lock can also be used.\n\nGardena 25 mm\n\nUnidelta 25 mm\n\nBlu Lock 24 mm\n\n**Pipe connection**\n\nGardena Fitting patented “Quick & Easy” assembly\n\nCompression classic PE fitting\n\nFast & reliable plug-in system, from solenoid valve\n\nT-piece 25 mm\n\nT-piece 25 mm (2771)\n\nT-piece 25 mm Unidelta\n\nT-piece Plug fitting\n\nBlu Lock 24 mm\n\nL-piece 25 mm\n\nL-piece 25 mm (2773)\n\nL piece 25 mm Unidelta\n\nL-piece Plug fitting\n\nBlu Lock 24 mm\n\nConnector 25 mm\n\nConnector 25 mm (2775)\n\nConnector 25 mm Unidelta\n\nConnector Plug fitting Blu Lock 24 mm\n\nEnd piece 25 mm\n\nEnd piece 25 mm (2778)\n\nEnd piece 25 mm Unidelta\n\nEnd piece plug fitting\n\nBlu Lock 24 mm\n\n**sprinkler connection**\n\nRigid mounting of sprinkler on PE pipe may cause fractures and prevents height adjustment\n\nFlexible mounting with swing Joint: clamp connector with female thread and flexible swing joint (AG x AG) for mounting the sprinkler\n\nFlexible mounting with stable and flexible 15mm PE flex pipe Blu-Lock and Blu-Lock connectors\n\nL-piece 25 mm x ½” male thread\n\nL-piece 25 mm x ½” male thread (2780)\n\nL-piece with ½” female thread + Swing Joint 15 cm (1/2” male x ½” male)\n\nBlu Lock angle 24 mm x 15 mm + 15 mm Blu Lock flexible tube + L-piece Blu Lock 15 mm x ½” Male thread\n\nL-piece 25 mm x ¾” male thread\n\nL-piece 25 mm x ¾” male thread (2781)\n\nL-piece with ¾” female + Swing Joint 15 cm (3/4” male x3/4” male)\n\nBlu Lock corner 24 mm x 15 mm + 15 mm Blu Lock flexible tube + L-piece Blu-Lock 15 mm x ¾” Male thread\n\ncorner piece 25 mm x ½” male thread\n\ncorner piece 25 mm x ½” Male thread (2782)\n\n90° corner with ½” female + Swing Joint 15 cm (1/2” male x ½” male)\n\nT-piece Blu Lock 24 mm / 24 mm / 15 mm + 24 mm Blu Lock angle + 15 mm Blu Lock flex tube + L-piece Blu Lock 15 mm x ½” male thread\n\ncorner piece 25 mm x ¾” male thread\n\ncorner piece 25 mm x ¾” Male thread (2783)\n\n90° corner with ¾” female + Swing Joint 15 cm (3/4” male x ¾” male)\n\nT-piece Blu Lock 24 mm / 24 mm / 15 mm + 24 mm Blu Lock corner + 15 mm Blu Lock flex pipe + L-piece Blu Lock 15 mm x ¾” male\n\nT-piece 25 mm x ½” male thread\n\nT-piece 25 mm x ½” male thread (2786)\n\nT-piece with ½” female + Swing Joint 15 cm (1/2”male x ½” male)\n\nT-piece Blu Lock 24 mm / 24 mm / 15 mm + 15 mm Blu-Lock flexible pipe + L-piece Blu Lock 15 mm x ½” male\n\nT-piece 25 mm x ¾” male thread\n\nT-piece 25 mm x ¾” male thread (2787)\n\nT-piece with ¾” female + Swing Joint 15 cm (3/4” male x ¾” male)\n\nT-piece Blu Lock 24 mm / 24 mm / 15 mm + 15 mm Blu Lock flexible pipe + L-piece Blu Lock 15 mm x ¾” male\n\n## Pressure resistance of PE pipes: The right wall thickness for every application\n\nThe pipe is permanently under pressure between the water supply (pump or tap) and the valve distribution or the water outlet. Therefore, pressure-resistant PE pipes with at least PN 8 should be used here. The compressive strength should in any case be higher than the maximum pressure so that the PE pipes can withstand the maximum amount. As a rule, lower pressures occur downstream of the solenoid valves because various outputs counteract the build-up of pressure. Here we recommend the use of PN 6 pipe. Thinner-walled PE pipes can also be used when laying above-ground pipes in the area of micro irrigation.\n\nDescription of the PE pipes\n\nPressure resistance (20° C water temperature)\n\nPN 2.5\n\npressure resistant up to 2.5 bar\n\nPN 4\n\npressure resistant up to 4.0 bar\n\nPN 6\n\npressure resistant up to 6.0 bar\n\nPN 8\n\npressure resistant up to 8.0 bar\n\nPN 10\n\npressure resistant up to 10.0 bar\n\nPN 12.5\n\npressure resistant up to 12.5 bar\n\nPN 16\n\npressure resistant up to 16,0 bar\n\n## Wintering - This makes your irrigation system frost-proof:\n\nA drainage valve prevents frost damage to your underground piping system. This automatic drain valve drains your system as soon as the water pressure drops below a minimum value. Therefore the system empties itself after each irrigation. Nevertheless, frost damage may occur at lower locations and in sprinklers with an outlet stop valve. Therefore we recommend emptying the irrigation system in winter with an air compressor. For this purpose, a compressed air connection is installed in the main line. Ball valves allow draining to the irrigation or to the sprinklers / drip pipes. With compressed air, the water in the pipes is blown out of the entire system, circuit by circuit. Any remaining small pockets of water cannot cause any damage in the pipe system."
