Pressure fittings and push fittings for the PE pipe main line

For laying the main pipes in an irrigation system, cold water pressure fittings or the professional Blu-Lock plug-in system (Plug&Rain®) can be used. We recomment cold water pressure fittings from Unidelta. The fittings are compatible with PE pipes from various manufacturers, e.g. Irritec, Gardena. The Blu-Lock system is a 24 mm plug-in system and is particularly suitable for the installation of an irrigation system in your private garden.

Reducers and adapters for your irrigation system

In the course of an irrigation installation, it is sometimes necessary to bridge dimensional differences between pipes and components. This is usually done via threads or adapters. A female thread is fitted on one side and a male thread on the other. Threads without a terminal seal are sealed with the help of Teflon tape. Threads made of metal can be screwed together, as can threads made of plastic. When combining metal and plastic threads, the metal thread should always be the female thread. A plastic thread can be screwed into the robust metal thread (stainless steel or brass). However, a male metal thread can crack a female plastic thread.

Swivel fittings for valve distribution and filter installation

The first choice for the installation of a valve distribution system for irrigation are swivel fittings. Everything that is screwed together with swivel fittings can be dismantled without having to dig up pipes etc. This is the prerequisite for being able to replace e.g. a valve even years later.

The right diameter for your irrigation: watering plants in the garden

When choosing a coupling, it is important to consider the diameter of the pipe and the material it is made of. PE pipes are specified according to their outer diameter. The most common PE pipe diameters for home garden irrigation are 16 mm, 25 mm and 32 mm. The sizes of the different threads are 1/2", 3/4" and 1" respectively, which are most commonly used in garden irrigation.

In order to ensure that the plants in the garden and in the beds, as well as potted plants on the balcony get a sufficient supply of water through irrigation: The type of irrigation depends on the plants and the soil. Lawn areas are usually irrigated with pop-up sprinklers, which give the best results. Bed areas can be irrigated with drip pipes. Drip pipes can be laid on the surface.
